1999
CASON Engineering Co. was established in 1999 as a 100% Hungarian-owned company. The founding members of the company have previously worked together in CASFA’s predecessor, ROFA Hungária Kft., Where the production, calibration and servicing of laboratory quality control devices were gradually developed, and the hydrocarbon industrial automation area became dominant. The strengthening of this business has given the breeding ground to the establishment of CASON Engineering Co. Ltd.
2000
Since the early 2000s, the main activity was the development, manufacture and installation of automation, data acquisition and processing control systems for high-capacity transport lines in the oil and gas industry. The first earnest automation project in 1998 was the construction of a leak detection, product tracking and excise accounting system for petroleum and product lines of MOL Plc. In 2000, CASON Engineering Co., together with MOL Plc., Received a National Innovation Award for this achievement.
2002
Since 2001 Based on the needs of our customers, we have continuously developed new products, from which the DIWICON product line came into being, as an alloy of industry-leading practices and innovative solutions to our company. Our DIWICON product line received Innovation Award in 2004.
2003
In the country, we first developed a fleet management system for passenger and vehicle tracking, based on the new GPRS technology that is a milestone. Our company has tracked thousands of domestic and foreign passenger and lorry vehicles at this time with full fleet management services. We first introduced a driver dispatcher system in Central Europe that was able to inform the driver of the route changes or other events and tasks.
2004
The ever-growing backbone of CASON’s product portfolio is provided by end-to-end and central autonomous communications equipment linked to AMI / AMR / AMA systems. The first products were released in 2004, including the DW 628 (commonly known as “Lamp”) and DW 256 product families, which also play an important role in the domestic and international gas industry.
2005
Our company also deals with software development, primarily with management and business applications related to our assets. In 2005, our Silver Light SCADA SC5 system featured revolutionary innovations, providing full system technical monitoring, reporting and BI functionality to system operators. The EDM module for energy trading is Hungary’s first energy trading IT system.
2007
We installed a natural gas technology monitoring system at NKM Földgázhálózati Kft. with which we implemented the SMS-based surveillance system with GPRS-based technology at about 70 stations. The system still works flawlessly with the original hardware architecture, supporting the distribution technician’s technical team and dispatchers a lot. The system can alert and alarm alarms and alarms in case of anomalous operation in individual stations.
2010
We have successfully completed project in Oman at PAEW where we implemented a meta-data-collection and consumption trend analysis using a concentrating Zig-C (CASON-modified Zigbee communication protocol) RF technology to create a modern AMI network for measuring data entry and withdrawal points for wired water networks. During the project, we uncovered several uncontrolled water supply points and discovered a leak with our last-mile-balance procedure.

2014
From 2014, CASON Engineering Ltd. has made a capital increase, where the majority shareholder of the Company became the DBH Group. The new majority owner and new management will provide the Company with sufficient stability for future technical developments and international expansion.
2015
With the arrival of the new owner, CASON Engineering Plc. not only financially strengthened financially, but also began consolidating the product portfolio. During the year, based on market trends and needs, we developed the DW 728 LGR “Logger” autonomous data collection and communication equipment for 10 months, which is widely applicable to data collection, registration and monitoring tasks for potentially explosive (natural gas, petroleum, pharmaceutical) supply.
2016
In our company’s product development strategy, as a significant step, we started the redesign of the classic AMR and Fleet management product lines in the spirit of the industry of IOT (Internet of Things). The new devices communicate through the MQTT protocol, making it easier to integrate into different SCADA and AMR systems. This year, our company has also been awarded the remote reading of consumers between 20-100 m3 / h capacity in three domestic gas distributors, so we can say that 70% of the gas consumers currently connected to the telecommunication network are supplied by the equipment developed and manufactured by us.
2017
2017 was a significant year for us, as we have been in our product development for the sale of commercial LPWA based remote data collection equipment. In Hungary, we first built the LoRA network for the large consumer meters of the Bácsvíz Zrt. of Kecskemét and installed end-point LoRA-based data collectors (DW 256 ULL). With this product, we launched the development of our AMR “Ultralight” (DW 256 ULX) category, the next step being the Narrow Band IoT modem version. This product, which communicates with NB IoT (DW 256 ULN), debuts at the 49th International Gas Conference on 7 November 2017 in Siófok. It is important to mention that our ULX product family (indeed) with ultra-low power custom ARMs comes with its own designed and developed CASON Stormy IoT Core central control module.
