DW 256 ULX – Ultra low power IoT based AMR device

The DW 256 ULX range is a device developed primarily for collecting and transmitting pulse-based data from public utility (water, gas, electricity) metering devices. The device processes the signals of gas consumption measuring devices (plate-shaped, diaphragm, rotary, turbine), water meters and electric gauges as well as digital sensors. The device has its own power supply, which ensures high degree of autonomy and up to 10 years of maintenance-free operation. The device automatically reads the consumption data from the field gauges; stores them in memory and then transmits them to the central database via LPWA (LoRA, NB IoT) communication channels.

The device is a modular ultra-low-power architecture made with industry-standard 4.0 and industrial IoT, with a compact high-energy Li battery.

Where to use?

Typically, at the retail endpoints of natural gas networks, providing a cost-effective and long-term solution for public utility metering and remote data transmission tasks.

Operation

The pulses provided by the meters are proportional to the amount of gas. The hour meter generated by the summing of the pulses is sent to the central database at specified intervals. The data is stored in the device.

Installation

The device has IP68 protection: it can be installed both indoors and outdoors. Typical application: outdoors, near the meter, wall mounted. Connecting the gas meter with a short cable is done with a corrector specific connector. The device can be deployed on the field within 5 minutes using a mobile application.

Set Up

The equipment can be easily set up with proper training. Bluetooth mobile parameterization software can be used for measuring position synchronization, k-factor setting, on-site diagnostics. In accordance with the set communication frequency, the device sends the data to the central application.
